Charité BIH Entrepreneurship Summit 2018

From Vision to Patient, Berlin, May 7 - 8, 2018

We would like to say a big THANK YOU to every participant for your great contributions, your active roles and the intense networking at the 11th Charité BIH Entrepreneurship Summit!

Framed by an exciting two-days-program, we hosted more than 420 international entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, physicians, and scientists from around the world! Please click here to get some impressions of the event. Due to our special collaboration with Australia as our partner country in 2018, we were able to welcome Australian leaders and experts in life sciences and medicine among our 53 outstanding speakers, who actively participated in six high profile sessions to discuss global trends and challenges in:

  1. Innovation Ecosystems
  2. Novel Funding Models in Healthcare - Affordability of Medication
  3. Blockchain
  4. Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare - Digital Health
  5. Regenerative and Cell Therapies and
  6. Microbiome

With the Life Sciences Venture Market, running in parallel on both days, we supported more than 30 international healthcare startups in MedTech, Pharma and Digital Health to extend their strategic network and to showcase their business concepts to investors and collaboration partners from Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine, and the Berlin Institute of Health. An independent jury selected and awarded the best three pitches.

In four workshops, future entrepreneurs also had the chance to learn more about crucial topics every startup inevitably needs to face such as financing, negotiating with investors, building up and maintaining a team and the impact of collaborations on marketing their idea. Our workshop moderators from UnternehmerTUM, High-Tech Gründerfonds, Berlin Health Innovation / SPARK Berlin and MOCK Rechtsanwälte Berlin provided expertise and best practice.

We are very thankful to our sponsors and supporters Berlin Institute of Health, Boehringer Ingelheim, Siemens Healthcare, Pfizer Germany and High-Tech Gründerfonds and our partner countries Australia (2018), Israel (2017) and Canada (2016).
