Project and event funding

Stiftung Charité funds both basic and applied science research, education, as well as the public health system and healthcare. The foundation leverages its independence to test innovations at the project level, aiming to foster change in the institutions it supports. Measures that benefit various areas of Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin (Charité) are eligible for support. Project proposals can be submitted in the medical and scientific fields, as well as patient care. Furthermore, subsidies can be sought to support collaborative ventures with other institutes. The application amount should not exceed 10,000 EUR. Only in exceptional cases is the funding of publications and comprehensive research projects possible.

All members of Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, including all its organizational units with partial legal capacity, such as the Berlin Institute of Health at Charité (BIH) or the German Heart Center of Charité (DHZC), are eligible.

By submitting an application, the applicant declares that they have read and understood Stiftung Charité’s grant conditions (Bewilligungsgrundsätze) and the program information relevant to their application. The applicant accepts these as the legally binding basis for any project funding. Additionally, the applicant acknowledges Stiftung Charité's standards for the realization of funded projects (Standards zur Durchführung von geförderten Vorhaben) and its data protection information (Datenschutzhinweise).

Applications can be submitted to Stiftung Charité at any time.  However, please note the following deadlines:
