With the newly established Institute for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (IKIM), Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin is consolidating its activities in the development and application of AI in clinical care. Professor Alexander Meyer will head the institute and in this role also holds the newly created professorship for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine. He remains Chief Medical Information Officer at Deutsches Herzzentrum der Charité (DHZC).
His appointment to professor was decisively supported by a Recruiting Grant from Stiftung Charité, thereby helping to strengthen this strategic future field at Charité.
