“Regarding the fact that a growing share of doctorate degrees will be achieved by publications, which are published in top-tier journals with high standards concerning methodological quality, the need for an improved preparation for thesis projects becomes apparent. The extension of the successful Promotionskolleg program will ensure that an increasing number of well-prepared doctoral candidates are available for the subsequent graduate programs and clinical scientist fellowships. Supervisors and students will be motivated to work in an interdisciplinary manner. Therefore, we implemented the first master class for supervisors at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Teaching the teachers is the first step to improve the scientific process quality in the sense of academic excellence.”
