Season’s Greetings from Stiftung Charité

Stiftung Charité is heading into the holidays. Our head office in Berlin will be closed from December 24, 2025, through January 1, 2026. We will be back starting January 2, 2026.

As the year draws to a close, we would like to reflect on our foundation’s activities in 2025:

This year, Stiftung Charité has welcomed 100 talented individuals with their innovative projects into its funding programs, including the Clinical Fellows, Visiting Fellows, and the science x media Tandem Program. In addition, we honored the Max Rubner Award winners and provided project and event funding.

We hosted several events, including the networking event for students from Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin in the spring and the Stiftung Charité Welcome Reception in the fall. Furthermore, we organized a public event as part of the 16th Berliner Stiftungswoche: Berliners gathered in the lecture hall ruins of Charité’s medical history museum to engage with our invited speakers from research, healthcare, ethics and culture, who discussed “Medicine of Excellence in the Future – Between the Right to Health, Resource Scarcity, and the Freedom to be Unreasonable.” We are planning another event for the upcoming Berliner Stiftungswoche in April 2026 – stay tuned.

In this year’s FACES interviews, as always, we gained valuable insights into diverse research fields: Learn more about HIV/AIDS research in Berlin (Prof. Dr. Christian Gaebler), nursing science at Charité (Prof. Dr. Jan Kottner), the art of science communication (Prof. Dr.Gary Lewin) or organ-on-a-chip engineering at the Max Delbrück Center (Prof. Dr. Milica Radisic).

The team at Stiftung Charité wishes you a peaceful holiday season and a wonderful start to the new year!
